BioVale is an initiative to build the Yorkshire and Humber region’s capability and reputation as an innovation cluster for the bioeconomy. The Yorkshire and Humber region has a large and thriving bioeconomy, which accounts for 10% of the UK’s bioeconomy, generates almost £9 billion worth of goods and services each year and employs around 105,000 people. It is one of the best places in the world for innovation in the bioeconomy, with its outstanding combination of bio-based research, industry and agriculture.

BioVale supports the development of Yorkshire and the Humber’s bioeconomy sector. Our focus is on:

• Value from biowastes.
• High-value chemicals from plants and microbes
• Innovation for anaerobic digestion

Our activities include: networking and dialogue; supporting biobased entrepreneurs; helping to build regional bio-based supply chains and inward investment and trade/export. BioVale is supported and steered by regional industry, research organisations, higher education and government. BioVale’s activities are managed by BioVale Limited, which is a not-for-profit company.
