Chlorine dosing application provides many problems for the instrument engineer, and the instrument involved.
Many standard instruments are made with 304 or 316 Stainless Steel Case and Wetted Parts, these are not suitable for such a highly corrosive environment and application where the lifetime and usability of the instrument can be short-lived.
Corrosion can start within a short period of time due to incorrect material selection leading to a catastrophic failure of the instrument, endangering personnel and cause frustrating downtime of the plant.
Ashford Instrumentation Ltd developed our answer to this problem, a pressure gauge housed in a fully epoxy coated case, and Monel wetted parts. An IP65 rated enclosure and user adjustable alarm contact module tell the user when a system needs replacement/changeover.
Experience has shown that when installed correctly, longevity of the instrument’s life and performance are improved against its contemporary alternatives. Offering the user, a cost saving over time by negating the need to frequently change failed instruments.
