12th April 2019
Flexitallic will showcase its innovative range of industrial gaskets and sealing solutions at the inaugural CHEMUK 2019 supply chain expo, which takes place in Yorkshire at the start of May.
The event, which takes place at the Yorkshire Event Centre in Harrogate on 1st and 2nd May, will bring together the UK’s chemical processing and chemical production formulation industries for a major conference and exhibition to discuss challenges and opportunities facing the sectors.
Flexitallic will be among more than 170 exhibitors at the event, displaying a collection of its innovative sealing technology that is proven in the chemical and process industries. This includes SIGMA® materials, which are predominately used in the chemical sector, and the revolutionary Change™ gasket, one of the world’s most significant sealing solutions.
SIGMA® has been developed for processes including cryogenic temperatures up to 260°C and is suitable for sealing the vast majority of chemical medium across the entire pH range. Containing non-stick properties that aid in an easy removal process after their usage to dramatically reduce downtime during shutdowns, the SIGMA® range of materials pair the outstanding chemical resistance of PTFE with enhanced dimensional stability to provide a secure seal.
With more than 100,000 sold into sectors including the chemical industry, Change™ is a highly-resilient metal-wound gasket, designed to deliver the most dynamic static sealing technology ever. Proven to perform 60 percent longer than other gaskets produced for the same application, Change™ has significant recovery capabilities, without comprising tightness, which is essential in high temperature applications. This is achieved through the application of a unique metal spiral profile, which is more advanced than those found in standard gaskets.
Also represented on the stand will be Flexitallic Group member the Academy of Joint Integrity, which provides bespoke and competency training for technicians and engineers involved in the installation and maintenance of bolted joint connections and managing Loss of Containment issues on COMAH facilities.
The Academy will also be demonstrating its new Joint Integrity Management Software (JIMS) alongside its partner software developer, Elisian, which supports safe process site maintenance operations.
JIMS is a new web-based, field-proven solution designed to enable engineers to maintain a live, real-time register of bolted connections and gasket installations. It has been created following detailed feedback from COMAH facilities, who were looking for a cost-effective online system to aid collecting and managing data of breaking, assembling and tightening flanged connections, and highlighted the need for a solution that addresses a number of root cause failures.
In addition, Academy Training Director Gary Milne will address delegates as one of CHEMUK 2019’s guest speakers where he will discuss prevention of Loss of Containment, reviewing latest Certified Courses designed specifically for the Chemical Industry.
Gary Milne said: “Flexitallic is really pleased to be part of the inaugural CHEMUK event, which will support our continued strategy to build our presence in the chemical and process sectors. Flexitallic and the Academy of Joint Integrity are very active in the industry and being part of this event will enable us to develop new and existing relationships and we look forward to meeting delegates at the event.”
