An innovative range of Teflon™ PTFE Air Operated Double Diaphragm (AODD) pumps is being spearheaded by pump distributor and manufacturer Tomlinson Hall.
The Billingham, UK-based company has introduced 2” DEPA® DH Next Generation Teflon™ PTFE AODD pumps, developed by CRANE ChemPharma & Energy, to its portfolio, which join the 0.5”, 1” and 1.5” versions available.
The range consists of DH-TP pumps, which are made from Teflon™ PTFE and TPL pumps, which are made from Teflon PTFE electro conductive housing material.
Both pump models have been designed to offer gentle pumping of low and high viscous products and shear-sensitive products, and they are particularly suitable for the chemical industry, as they can handle aggressive, caustic and acidic fluids. The TPL model is also suitable for use in explosion endangered gas and dust areas.
The pumps provide for fewer leakage paths through the implementation of integrated valve seats, manifolds with integrated flange connection, ‘block-mounted’ pump chambers and air chambers and the rib design of DEPA® diaphragms.
They also offer improved valve ball guidance, which increases dry suction lift by up to 50% versus previous designs, according to internal testing. The pumps have also been designed to help operators reduce maintenance downtime, and offer a lighter weight alternative to many competitor models.
Tomlinson Hall is the sole UK distributor for CRANE ChemPharma & Energy and DEPA® DH Next Generation Teflon™ PTFE AODD pumps are available through the company’s £99 for 99 scrappage scheme. Launched at the start of 2018 to celebrate its 99th year in business, the scrappage scheme – which lasts until December 31 2018 – allows end users to replace older pumps with more energy efficient solutions and support the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) in the process.
Under the ‘£99 for 99’ initiative, Tomlinson Hall is giving £99 – in addition to any negotiated price – to any company which replaces any old pump on their UK premises with a new DEPA® AODD or ELRO® pump, which will be supplied by Tomlinson Hall. The firm will safely dispose of the old pump and the scrap value of each pump replaced will be donated to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). Pump users can either take their scrap pumps to Tomlinson Hall’s premises for disposal or Tomlinson Hall’s specialist engineering team will de-install the pumps on the customer’s site.
