Guest Panellist Bio:

Florence is co-founder and CTO of Lixea. During her PhD at Imperial College’s Chemical Engineering Department, she co-invented the Dendronic process which uses an environmentally friendly solvent called ionic liquids to separate the different components wood and agricultural residues. These components can then be used to produce new chemicals and materials, shifting our reliance away from petroleum. She has received numerous accolades, including the EIT Change Award and the IChemE Young Researcher Award and has raised over EUR4.5m in funding for her company Lixea which is currently commissioning a pilot plant for the Dendronic process in Sweden. She is passionate about using her skills to make a lasting difference to the environment and society.
