About this presentation
In this Day 1 closing Keynote, Dr Jo Bray will look at the chemistry sector and its relationship with BEIS post EU Exit and pandemic, exploring BEIS priorities and what they could mean for the chemistry sector, especially net zero.
Jo joined BEIS in April 2017 to lead the Chemicals and Plastics team, championing UK manufacturing, driving growth and productivity and supporting commercialisation of the best of UK science and research. She also leads on EU Exit and trade issues for the chemistry sector and is also working with the sector on its contribution to Net Zero. Prior to that Jo worked at Defra where she had a variety of roles specialising in environmental, agriculture and food issues, including responsibility for market access and trade in the Great British Food Unit prioritising new markets, improving processes for exporters and leading work on EU Exit issues for the food sector. A graduate from Imperial College, she has a BSc in biology and a PhD in atmospheric chemistry and urban air quality. She also graduated from LSE in 2020 with an Executive Masters in Public Policy.
