Speaker Bio:

Helen has been connecting the business needs of clients with the pilot-scale expertise and services of the BDC since 2013. Drawing on over 20 years’ experience in contracting and account management for SMEs and multinationals, technical and commercial sales in waste, low carbon and renewable innovations, Helen brings researchers and industry together to create opportunities within the bioeconomy.

The Biorenewables Development Centre (BDC), is an open-access R&D centre, working with industry and researchers to scale up and help commercialise bio-based products and processes. With a team of biologists, chemists and business innnovation advisers, the BDC offers a unique combination of multi-disciplinary expertise coupled with pilot-scale bioprocessing capabilities, in one coordinated centre. Covering a broad spectrum of biorefining technologies, from feedstock assessment to product evaluation, the team specialises in making the most out of residue biomass materials, food processing wastes, and biorenewable materials – by de-risking the innovation process.
