About this Session
The well documented skills gap in process manufacturing continues, but how are organisations responding to this and what strategies do they have in place to access the required skills and future proof their business?
CATCH is delighted to bring together an engaging skills panel of industry leaders to encourage lively debate and best practice sharing and who will provide an insight into resilient process industry skills for the future. Our experienced industry panel will also explore topics such as, green skills and job opportunities for the energy transition, strengthening diversity and inclusivity, and solutions and opportunities for through life development from apprenticeships to reskilling and training.
CATCH works with over 300 employers across the Yorkshire & Humber region, in sectors such as Chemicals, Oil & Gas, Cosmetics, Food & Drink, Energy and Pharmaceuticals, and its associated supply chain.

“I am the Apprenticeship Manager at Syngenta’s Huddersfield Manufacturing Centre. Starting in 1977 as an engineering apprentice, I have spent my whole career on site working in Engineering, Manufacturing, Process Technology and Learning & Development. I was instrumental in developing our current Apprenticeship Programme in 2012 as part of our strategy for building a workforce for the future. This year will see us recruit out 80th apprentice across a range of standards including, engineering, manufacturing, science, IT, design, HSE and business administration.
I have served on the Yorkshire and Humber Apprenticeship Ambassador Network. I am passionate about apprenticeships, the fantastic opportunities that they offer young people and the benefit to organisations.”
