Each Job is allocated to one of our highly skilled Project Managers, who implements BHL’s very own Orbital Management Principle in executing a full Turnkey Solution. This Principle holds the Project Manager at the centre of the job, in full control of every move stage, with complete vision and knowledge over every element of the relocation. Essentially operating as the gravitational pull, that all job components Orbit. Allowing for complete transparency and clear accountability, minimising drops in communication, and offering continuity of service and a single, consistent point of contact.
Our end-to-end services include specialised packing of fragile assets like glassware and consumables, alongside seamless coordination with OEMs to manage decommissioning and recommissioning processes. We can provide an Asset Tracking and Labelling service, recognising the importance of traceability. We handle ULT Freezer relocations with a meticulous approach to safeguarding mission-critical samples, employing state-of-the-art lifting and handling technologies and Cold Chain services if required.
Our dedicated team have a wealth of operational experience across CL1 – CL4 Laboratory environments including Cleanroom settings and are trained in the safe handling of hazardous materials, IMPs, controlled substances, cryogenic liquids and compressed gas. We prioritise proactive risk mitigation through detailed assessments and robust method statements developed by our certified Risk Assessors, fully aligned with HSE Guidelines and industry best practices.

ASSET TRACKING & TRACEABILITY

We will carry out a complete Laboratory survey, compiling a full equipment list of all items to be moved, recording serial numbers and asset values to make for a smooth transition.
EQUIPMENT STORAGE & INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
We are aware of the premium value of space in today’s business world and in response we offer storage facilities to suit all requirements. With our very own warehouse facilities based at our Cambridgeshire Headquarters, we are able to accommodate high volumes of palletised equipment or consumable storage, file storage, or secured confidential document storage. We offer a full packing service to compliment this and can prepare and make ready all items for short or long term storage, including detailed asset lists. We fully understand that quality safety and security of your stored goods is paramount, so you can rest assured that our fully comprehensive Insurance Packages and Surveillance Systems keep your goods protected. With many of our clients having additional offices worldwide, international shipping is an integral part of our workload. We offer a premium export packing service, with the highest attention to detail, to ensure the safe transit and delivery of every item. We recognise the importance of delivering items safely, securely and without damage and endeavour to provide safeguards at every opportunity. We can assess the packing needs of the specific item to be relocated, considering factors such as temperature control, distance and duration of transportation and transportation mode. We can then have bespoke crates produced which would be tailored specifically to the item being shipped. Offering heat treated crates in line with ISPM15 (International Phytosanitary Standard for Wood Packaging), Stratocell Foam packaging, shock detectors and tilt indicators, foil bags, shrink wrapping, cushioning felt and chip foam if required. We can ship singular pieces of equipment, be it a specific piece of Laboratory equipment, a computer server or large machinery, but can also manage and co-ordinate the shipping of large scale office/laboratory relocations, or high volumes of equipment. Including FULL customs administration.
