Magnetic Coupled Pumps
Empire Pumps’ EPM range of Sealless Magnetic Coupled Pumps, known commonly as a Mag Drive Pump, are manufactured from polypropylene and PVDF thermoplastic materials. Our Mag Drive pump technology is specifically manufactured for operation with corrosive chemicals associated with many industries. Our Sealless design is unique, ensuring complete closed containment for efficient chemical transfer without leaks. The pump is operated by a synchronisation of magnetic forces from a drive magnet, connected to an electric motor and the pump impeller positioned inside the pump. The assembly of the pump is simple and requires very little maintenance. Empire Pumps range of Magnetic Coupled Pumps have high tolerances, with no close touching parts between the pump impeller and suction casing. This gives an advantage when transferring solutions which have very fine particles present and chemicals which can be prone to crystallisation. Our EPM range of magnetic centrifugal pumps have a limited run dry capability and can achieve flow rates between 0 and 1000 l/min catering to a wide range of chemical transfer applications.

Air Operated Diaphragm Pumps
Empire Pumps’ extensive range of Air Operated Diaphragm Pumps commonly known as AOD or AODD Pumps, are specifically designed for durability, performance and reliability. The pumps robust construction gives the ability to transfer abrasive and highly viscous solutions, manufactured for use with many industries including chemical, pharmaceutical, wastewater, effluent treatment, metal finishing and many more. Our air driven pump range vary in size from ¼’’ to 3’’ achieving flow rate capabilities up to 1000 l/min, making them ideal for a variety of chemical transfer applications. Equipment materials of construction are available in polypropylene, PVDF, aluminium and stainless steel. Elastomer, diaphragm materials: Santoprene, Nitrile, EPDM, Viton and Teflon (PTFE). Our range of Air Operated Double Diaphragm Pumps offer technical benefits when considering the corrosive nature of the chemistries being transferred. The air valve and centre section of our pneumatic pump range is plastic opposed to aluminium. Non-metallic constructed parts are more corrosive resistant should chemicals reach the centre section of the pump. Furthermore, our pump design utilises bolts opposed to band clamps, ensuing more support to the full surface area of the diaphragms whilst the pump is in operation. The bolted design also provides easier maintenance on strip down and assembly of the pump. Our pump design offers a centre positioned inlet and outlet port, giving equal flow through each side of the pump. This design feature enables our pump range to achieve 15 to 20% increased flow rate for the equivalent pump size of an alternative manufacturer.

Drum Pumps
Empire’s Drum Pumps commonly known as a Barrel Pump, Stick Pump or IBC Pump, provide efficient and reliable transfer of aggressive chemicals safely throughout the UK. Our extensive product range includes materials of construction from polypropylene, PVDF and stainless steel. The pump technology is specifically designed with operator usability being the paramount factor. The electric drive motor is manufactured with a variable speed controller providing the option of a slow start up, reducing the potential dangers of chemical splash back. Our comprehensive range includes ATEX approved pump ends and motors suitable for dispensing flammable solutions. The drum pumps are suitable for operation with both acidic and alkaline solutions. Typical chemicals to be transferred would be hydrochloric, sulphuric, nitric acids and caustic, chlorine alkali. We offer equipment packages such as pump end and motor only, a complete package system inclusive of petrol nozzle and flexible hose or electronic batch controller systems. The Drum Pump ends are manufactured in the UK at various lengths from 700mm to 1800mm, ensuring a pump is available for all chemical transfer applications. A standard 1000mm pump end would be used to transfer chemicals from 200 litre barrels, 1200mm pump length for Industrial Bulk Containers (IBC’s) and 1500mm aiding the transfer of solutions from deep process tanks. Electric 240v, 110v and air motor drives are available.

PTFE Heat Exchangers
Empire Pumps specialise in the manufacture of fluoroplastic heat exchangers. Our diverse plastic range is constructed from PTFE, FEP and PFA. These high quality rated plastics are ideal for use with high temperature aggressive metal finishing and chemical processes. The advanced texture of the plastics ensures the surface of the heat exchanger remains smooth, thus reducing the potential scaling of sludge producing processes. The Empire range of heat exchangers are manufactured using pure fluoroplastics with an increased wall thickness. This robust design allows steam and thermal fluids to be transferred through the heat exchanger at increased pressures up to 4 bar. The higher the pressure capability, the quicker the heat is transferred into the process solution and the faster the tank is heated. The range can be manufactured in circular, horizontal or vertical designs. Our thicker tube technology offers increased surface area within the same physical size of alternative products. This increased surface area ensures quicker heating of process tanks. We offer flexible design solutions to suit specific customer requirements. The heat exchangers can be manufactured with floor mounted feet or with a mounting bracket for positioning on the inside of the tank wall. The inlet and outlet ports can be flanged or screwed connections. Extended flexible risers can be fitted to overcome large tank freeboards.
