Jasco UK Ltd
About us
JASCO is a non-traded privately held Japanese company, specialising in the manufacturing of analytical instrumentation since the late 1950's. We are listed in the top 25% of worldwide analytical instrument manufacturers.
In every country we offer a broad range of instrument based solutions to a great many science based problems.
At JASCO (UK) we are proud to be able to deliver the great systems developed by our manufacturing organisation in Japan. We believe our challenge is to deliver these products to our customers in the UK and to provide great service; in terms of customer care, from listening to our customer's needs and remaining totally flexible, cost effective and competitive.
In the mid-1950's a group of scientists at the Japanese Institute of Optics, which later became Tsukuba University, required an infrared spectrophotometer for their research. Since at that time no commercial instrument was available, they undertook the challenge of developing their own. The result was a remarkable success: a reliable instrument with exceptional optical performance.
As other researchers heard about this new development they began requesting instruments for their own studies. In 1958, in response to this increasing demand, the Japan Spectroscopic Corporation (JASCO) was founded to provide the scientific community with optical spectroscopy products. Founding members include world-famous physicist Yoshio Fujioka and Nobel Prize winner Shinichiro Tomonaga.
Over many years, JASCO’s spectroscopy product line has expanded extensively to include virtually every type of optical spectroscopy. The current product areas include the following:
Circular Dichroism Spectrometers
Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectrometers
UV/Visible and Near Infrared Spectrophotometers
Polarimeters
Fluorescence Spectrophotometers
Dispersive Raman Spectrometers
FT-Raman Spectrometers
Dissolution Systems
Near Field Optical Micro-Spectrometers
Ellipsometers
With the introduction of HPLC in the mid-1970's, JASCO's experience in optical systems resulted in the development of excellent chromatographic detection systems, and, over time, complete HPLC systems. In 1985, JASCO launched one of the first commercial packed-column supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) systems, including the renowned dynamic back-pressure regulator. In 2005, JASCO was one of the first companies to develop an ultra high performance LC system (UHPLC). The current range of chromatography products includes the following:
Supercritical Fluid Chromatography and Extraction Systems (Analytical and Preparative)
UHPLC - Ultra High Performance Liquid Chromatography Systems
HPLC - Analytical, Semi-Preparative and Preparative
Variable Wavelength/Scanning UV-Visible Detectors
UV-Visible Diode-array Detectors
Variable Wavelength/Scanning Fluorescence Detectors
Refractive Index Detectors
Chiral Detectors - Optical Rotation (ORD) and Circular Dichroism (CD) Detectors
Chemiluminescence Detectors
2023 marked the 65th anniversary of the foundation of JASCO, and over its 60+ years of operation JASCO has established itself as a respected global supplier of high performance analytical instruments operating in 57 countries throughout the Americas, Asia, Europe, Oceania, and the Middle East. We continue to strive to develop the best technologies and solutions for the scientific community.

V-700 Series UV-Vis/NIR Spectrophotometer
For scientists performing spectral characterization, thermodynamic studies, and quantitative measurements for advanced bio- and materials research, who need confidence in the accuracy and reproducibility of their measurements and rely on the results. The V-700 series UV-Visible/NIR spectrophotometers provides an excellent optical system with wide wavelength range for a diverse array of applications. The V-700 series comprises five distinct models covering the entire spectrum from the far-UV (187 nm) to the NIR (3200 nm). The compact optical design of the V-700 series UV-Visible/NIR spectrophotometers significantly reduces the requirement for bench space in the modern laboratory.

Jasco FTIR-4X LR-2
JASCO has its roots in the Institute of Optics - Tokyo University of Education which developed Japan’s first infrared spectrophotometer, Model DS-101, in 1954. Since the establishment of the company in 1958, we have inherited the spirit of our predecessors in infrared spectrophotometry and have completed the FT/IR-4X as the culmination of our work. The size is only 386 (W) × 479 (D) mm, and we have also achieved a 30 % reduction in power consumption compared to conventional models. It is research-grade in performance, functionality and expandability, and supports high resolution, high S/N, high sensitivity detectors, extending measurement wavenumber, microscopy with linear array detector, and rapid scan. The sample compartment is 200 mm wide, the same width as that of a large model, and can accommodate conventional accessories, including those from third parties.
