Newson Gale
About us
Newson Gale has been leading the way in hazardous area static grounding control for over 40 years, manufacturing safety equipment for industries where processes generating static electricity have the potential to ignite flammable or combustible atmospheres.
In many industries, hazardous (explosive) atmospheres exist due to the presence of flammable dusts, gases, liquid vapours and fibres making it vital to eliminate all potential ignition sources. Static electricity is generated by virtually all operations and processes involving movement so fires and explosions can occur as a result of uncontrolled static discharge from plant, people and materials.
Newson Gale offers a wide range of static grounding and bonding equipment which provides optimum safety in explosive atmospheres and other hazardous operating environments.
Products

Earth-Rite DGS - Dual Grounding System
The Earth-Rite DGS Dual Grounding System (DGS) has two independent ground monitoring circuits that allows operators to ground and continuously monitor two items of metal conductive plant equipment concurrently to less than 10 Ohms, such as two bulk transportation vehicles or other metallic vessels like Ex IBCs and metal drums.

Earth-Rite II PLUS - Grounding railcars, IBCs and drums
The Earth-Rite II PLUS is an extremely versatile system that may be used to monitor static ground conditions on a wide range of plant equipment, including Mobile Tanks, Railcars, IBC’s, Drums and Containers. The PLUS operates a single mode monitoring system that continuously monitors the clamp-ground connection ensuring resistance in the circuit does not rise above 10 ohms.

Earth-Rite II RTR - Static Earthing Protection for Road Tankers
The Earth-Rite® II RTR is Newson Gale’s dedicated road tanker static earthing system with system interlocks and visual ‘GO / NO-GO’ indication. The system utilises innovative design to ensure positive connection to a road tanker, connection to a verifiable static dissipative ground and a continuously monitored tanker-ground connection of less than 10 ohms. When these parameters are confirmed, the RTR permits, via interlock contacts, the transfer of product and any static generated on the road tanker by the transfer process is immediately transferred to ground. The Earth-Rite RTR operates with a Universal Grounding Clamp. The clamps hard and very sharp tungsten carbide teeth ensure a metal-to-metal contact with a bite that is capable of penetrating through corrosion or paint.

Earth-Rite II MGV - Mobile Grounding
The Earth-Rite Mobile Ground Verification system (MGV) provides automatic confirmation of a positive electrostatic earth connection for trucks collecting and transferring flammable / combustible products. Vacuum trucks and bulk chemical road tankers, including their hoses and hose connections, are at risk of accumulating a static charge during the transfer of product into or out of the truck’s containment system. Static charge is a hidden source of ignition and if discharged as a static spark can lead to the ignition of the product or the atmosphere in which the truck and material handling team is operating. The Earth-Rite MGV has been designed for operators to easily establish and identify the safe earthing of their vehicle prior to any transfer operations.

OhmGuard - Intrinsically Safe Hose Continuity Tester
The OhmGuard intriniscally safe hose continuity tester is designed to test hoses used on vacuum trucks and tanker trucks prior to the transfer of flammable or combustible products. The easy to operate OhmGuard does not require any specialist driver training and within seconds can verify the electrical conductivity of the hose is functioning correctly. Once attached static electricity cannot accumulate on the metal components of the hose which will eliminate the risk of a fire or explosion caused by the discharge of a static spark.

Cen-Stat™ Clamps, Cables and Reels
Newson Gale certified Clamps and Cen-Stat anti-static Hytrel coated cables are designed to enable hazardous area operators to achieve an effective static earth connection to portable / mobile items of plant, in order to safely dissipate static electricity. The Cen-Stat range of clamps, cables and reels are single circuit applications that rely on high strength mechanical circuits to dissipate static electricity from potentially charged equipment and are subjected to rigorous FM & ATEX testing standards.

Bond-Rite REMOTE EP - Earthing Drums & Containers
in a complete loop made through the designated earthing point. For processing applications requiring earthing for more than 6 hours per day, the Bond-Rite REMOTE EP can simultaneously power up to ten indicator stations using 230V AC or 115 V AC mains power. This enables users to actively monitor up to 10 items of plant equipment at risk of electrostatic charging.

Earth-Rite MULTIPOINT II - Multiple Grounding
The Earth-Rite MULTIPOINT II static grounding system can monitor up to eight (8) individual items of potentially isolated equipment at risk of discharging electrostatic sparks. Grounding and monitoring multiple items of equipment like multi drum loading stations and mixing stations, IBC loading stations and railcar loading gantries, would require a large number of conventional static grounding systems to provide protection against incendive electrostatic sparks. In addition to flammable liquid and gas operations, powder processing equipment that typically include interconnected pipes, fluid bed dryers, hoppers and micronizers would require multiple grounding systems.

Bond-Rite REMOTE - Grounding Drums and Containers
The Bond-Rite REMOTE enhances safety and security of processes at risk of generating electrostatic charges by continuously monitoring the connection of the clamp to the container or other conductive items of plant. The Bond-Rite REMOTE indicator station houses both the earth loop monitoring circuit and a bright green LED indicator which pulses continuously when it detects that the resistance between the equipment and the site’s verified earth is 10 ohms or less. For processes where a wall mounted indicator is preferred, two enclosure options are available. The standard SDP (Static Dissipative Polyester) enclosure is suitable for general processing environments, whereas the stainless steel enclosure caters for corrosive or hygienic environments. The battery provides up to 6 months of power for equipment grounded for up to an average of 6 hours per day.
