About us

For more than 35 years, SIP Speciality Oils and Fluids has been a respected and recognised independent marketer and distributor. Based in London, we have been supplying customers in Europe and the wider African and Middle Eastern markets for many years. SIP has one of the most comprehensive product portfolios, covering a wide range of base fluids for many product applications.

We are especially known for our extensive range of viscosity grades of mineral white oils with Halal, Kosher and Vegan approvals, and our premium oils for industrial and drilling applications. We manage our own vessel and road tanker operations in-house, based around our storage hub in North West Europe. We pride ourselves on our ability to deliver where our competitors cannot by giving tight lead times, support for unusual viscosity grades, and our own experienced in-house technical services and operations team who offer a bespoke service.

SIPBiO, our new line of bio-based, renewable and biodegradable products. Developed specifically for applications beyond fuels, SIPBiO fluids offer a wide array of advantages for industries such as automotive, metalworking, coatings, inks and transformers, among others. The SIPBiO H series consists of bio-based hydrocarbons that are readily biodegradable and of low viscosity. These fluids possess characteristics similar to naphthenics, offering high solvency along with a very high solvency along with a very high viscosity index (VI), and an excellent response to antioxidants. With a carbon-negative footprint, the SIPBiO H series is an ideal choice for multiple industrial applications.

SIPPRO Silicone Sealants

SIPPRO - Process oils for silicone sealants. High quality speciality fluids for use in the formulation of both professional and domestic silicone sealants. * Professional quality silicone sealants * Economic DIY grades * Multi-purpose sealants * Bathroom sealants * Glazing sealants > Exceptional solvency > Excellent compatibility > More economic that alternative sealant fluids > High purity with very low sulphur and aromatics > Colourless and odourless > Fluid at low temperatures > Very low evaporation rates > Good colour stability > Sustainable products The SIPPRO portfolio provides a wide range of highly refined and treated mineral oils for use as solvents and extender fluids in both professional and domestic silicone sealants. This product range enables silicone sealant formulations to choose the oil which provides the best balance of performance and cost for the intended sealant application. The range encompasses oils of both paraffinic and naphthenic types, with a range of viscosities, pour points and volatilities. SIPRO products are available with viscosities from 3 cst to 9 cst at 40 deg C, have a high degree of iso paraffin content and are very pure with extremely low levels of sulphur and aromatics. They are clean, colourless and have excellent UV stability which enables reduced yellowing and good transparency in finished sealants.

SIPEX

SIPEX - A range of high-quality dearomatized hydrocarbon oils for use in both Ammonium nitrate fuel oil (ANFO) and Ammonium nitrate emulsion explosives. * Ammonium Nitrate Fuel Oil (ANFO) * Heavy ANFO * Bulk emulsions * Cartridge and packaged emulsions > High Purity with low sulphur and aromatics > Easily emulsified > Colourless and odourless > Oxidatively and thermally stable > Excellent low temperature fluidity > Low volatility The SIPEX portfolio of hydrocarbon oils is designed for use in the manufacture of ammonium nitrate explosives. The broad range of viscosities and pour points provides a variety of options to meet specific formulation requirements. SIPEX oils are colourless and odourless, have extremely low sulphur levels and trace aromatic content for safe use in confined environments. They therefore have considerable benefits in terms of health, safety and the environment over the traditional diesel or fuel oils used in ANFO.

SIPTECH

A range of technical white oils for high performance applications. The SIPTECH range are highly refined, colourless and odourless technical white oils that meet the requirements of FDA 21 CFR 178.3620 (b). Premium medicinal white oils for the most demanding pharma applications. These products are used as emollients or carrier fluids in many applications including personal care, baby care, dermatological preparations, petroleum jelly manufacture, sun care and tissue manufacture. Kosher, Halal and Vegan approved, the high purity nature of these key oils mean that they can also be used as ingredients in the formulation of food grade lubricants and SIP supports this sector through its wide range of NSF H1, HX-1 and H3 registrations. The SIPMED grades are also used as key ingredients in the paper and pulp sector to produce food and packaging.

Thorough advanced technologies like high-pressure hydrogenation and hydrotreatment, the oils are meticulously refined to achieve excellent electrical properties, low pour point, cooling characteristics and remarkable oxidation stability. These properties make them suitable for the most demanding transformer applications. bio TRANSOL-HF is a natural ester based dielectric fluid derived from renewable vegetable oils, providing an eco-friendly alternative to conventional mineral oils. It is fully biodegradable according to US EPA OECD 301B standards and is non toxic to aquatic life. Additionally, bioTRANSOL-HF is UL classified and FM approved. TRANSOL synth 100 is a synthetic ester dielectric fluid engineered for exceptional durability and longevity in transformer applications. As a K-class fluid, it conforms to the standards specified in IEC 61099 / IS 16081.

SIPSPRAY

SIPSPRAY - a range of paraffinic oils for effective pest control. Highly refined paraffinic oils for use as adjuvants in a wide variety of crop protection formulations. Enhances insecticide and post-emergent herbicide efficacy. Fungicidal effect to help control plant diseases. Formulated to be used throughout multiple growing seasons. These have been carefully selected for use in its SIPSPRAY range of products for crop protection. These very pure SIPSPRAY oils combine optimal pesticidal strength with low phytotoxicity, being the perfect solution to fight plant pests in a wide variety of crops. They offer an alternative physical mode of action with no pest resistance recorded. SIPSPRAY oils form a protective barrier against insects, mites and plant diseases. It eliminates insects, eggs and mites by suffocating them, deterring feeding and inhibiting the spread of plant disease. SIPSPRAY oils are highly effective and versatile, as they can be used as insecticide and herbicide adjuvants but they also have a fungicidal and enhancing effect. SIPSPRAY oils can be used in the composition of plant protection products for organic farming. They can be incorporated into other integrated pest management strategies, as they are compatible with the auxiliary fauna, avoid the development of pest resistance, leave no residue and have a low toxicological and eco-toxicological profile.

SIPDRILL

SIPDRILL - A range of high performance, environmentally sensitive drilling base fluids, designed to meet and exceed the technical demands of deep water offshore drilling. SIPDRILL base fluids exhibit very low viscosities and densities and have proven performance in high temperature (HPHT). SIP has been supplying premium drilling base fluids to the offshore industry for over 25 years. The demands and requirements of this demanding industry sector vary from region to region and we have used our extensive industry knowledge and experience to develop a range of fluids that meet each region's technical and environmental needs. The SIPDRILL range of low viscosity fluids are colourless and odourless, have relatively low volatility, high flash points, excellent occupational hygiene characteristics and exhibit very low toxicity to marine life. They contain only trace levels of polycyclic aromatics and are registered with the Offshore Chemical Notification Scheme (OCNS).
