We are seeking a Shift Supervisor who thrives on creating a culture of accountability, development and safety.
What you’ll be doing
Act as Site Main Controller (designated senior person during site incidents) –
responsible for coordinating emergency responses with the support of the incident
response team
Prepare, co-ordinate and authorise a Safe System of Work for activities, including
ensuring equipment is isolated and decontaminated as required.
Champion safety standards, behaviours and continuous improvement to help achieve
zero incidents.
Support the Shift Manager to coach and develop a shift team of 20 - 25 operators.
Set expectations around safety, quality and efficiency.
Foster a culture of high engagement, collaboration and ownership.
Identify training needs to ensure team readiness
Support cross-site priorities, working closely with other supervisors to share resource
and drive performance.
Work alongside the plant team to plan and allocate resources to deliver the production
schedule efficiently.
Provide technical input and troubleshooting guidance to maintain uptime and
compliance.
Oversee safe and efficient plant shutdown, decontamination, and start-up
What you will bring
A confident and proactive supervisor, comfortable on the plant floor and in the control room.
The Shift Supervisor will understand that great operations are driven by great teams, and you
know how to support the Shift Manager to bring the best out of people.
Essential
Previous experience on a COMAH site or within chemical/process manufacturing
Experience of controlling maintenance activities using safe systems of work
Relevant experience in a similar process industry
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Solid organisational and problem-solving skills
PC literate (e.g. Microsoft Office)
Minimum of equivalent Grade 9-4 qualifications (GCSE Grade C and above) in English
and Maths
Desirable
Experience in emergency response or incident control
