Irlam/Salford – A significant milestone for WERIT’s UK operations: the modernised Irlam site was officially inaugurated by Sandra C Morrison, Honorary Consul in Manchester for the German Missions in the United Kingdom.
The ceremony brought together representatives from MIDAS, long-standing suppliers, customers, and colleagues from across the WERIT Group to celebrate the extensive site investment.
Investing in a Sustainable Future
With the transformation of its Irlam facility, WERIT reinforces its long-term commitment to the Salford region. The investment includes a new warehouse, modern office space, and state-of-the-art blow-moulding machinery, significantly enhancing production and logistics capacity.
At the same time, the company reaffirmed its strategic focus on three key priorities:
Creating jobs and opportunities in the Salford area
Driving sustainable manufacturing through energy efficiency, solar power, electrification, and a commitment to becoming paperless by 2028
Strengthening customer partnerships in the food & beverage, chemical, and petrochemical sectors by increasing capacity and improving supply reliability
Strengthening German–British Economic Relations
The presence of the Honorary Consul highlighted the importance of German–British economic ties and recognised WERIT UK’s role as part of an internationally successful group with German roots.
WERIT extended its thanks to all guests who attended this milestone event and to the entire team whose dedication and hard work made the project possible.
With this investment in Irlam, WERIT UK positions itself for continued growth, innovation, and sustainable manufacturing in the UK market.
