What Does The "M" In MetronM Stand For?

Primarily, it stands for Modbus. Modbus is an open, royalty-free industrial communication protocol used in billions of devices. Our ground-breaking MetronM device is a multi-purpose IIoT gateway delivering rich, reliable, digital data via RS485 Modbus RTU. There is more info on Modbus below. It can also stand for:

How Does MetronM Work?

MetronM acts as a master, using RS485 Modbus RTU to collect data from a broad range of slaves, including PLCs, meters, HMIs, smart sensors, drives and machines.

Typical Applications For MetronM

Energy Metering - MetronM can measure voltage, current reactive power and frequency, as well as kilowatt-hours (kWh)

Tank Level Monitoring - In addition to simple level/volume measurements, MetronM can monitor signal quality, echo amplitude, measured distance and temperature.

Condition Monitoring - The rich data available via MetronM can track key performance parameters in machinery, feeding into ERP and bespoke maintenance platforms, to assist organisations with predictive and proactive maintenance, avoiding breakdown and stoppage.
