PANEL SESSION:

Transforming Thermal Processes: The Impact of innovative Electrification in chemistry to Achieve Higher Efficiency and Yield in Chemical and Petrochemical

The Chemical and Petrochemical industries are developing and implementing a variety of solutions to decarbonize process heating equipment. Traditionally those industries have used gas fired burners as the heat source, which emit a large amount of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. One of the best way to decarbonize the Chemical Heat processes is to electrify it. This presentation will look at the electrification of the full thermal loop, with a special focus on the Power Control side, for high efficiency and output chemical production and what needs to be considered within thermal management in relation to the heating processes to make your technology a success. Comparisons to non-electric process heaters, as well as between the different electric process heater solutions, will be included in the presentation to contrast size, cost, and controllability
