Backer IoT Smart Controller
The Backer IoT Smart Temperature Controller range of products have been designed from the round up with temperature control and our commitment to the environment at their heart. Control your heat requirements and energy usage wherever you are. From plant scada through to mobile maintenance and control, our smart range of temperature controllers are designed to offer the flexibility to fit into any environment and provide the maximum levels of control. Fields of application: - Process control - Building management - Staged heating control - Scheduled duty cycling - Remote monitoring & control Benefits: - Energy management - Condition monitoring - Integrated heating - Ultimate connectivity - Logic control Electric Immersion Heating remains the most efficient solution to heating up most liquids and is a simple way to harness more environmentally friendly forms of renewable energy generation. In order to make more effective use of electricity, a smarter way to control our immersion heaters is key and with many years of application experience, the Backer Group has all the knowledge required to provide smart control. Our digital temperature controllers are designed for both integrated heating applications, built into our immersion heaters or as stand alone panel mounted independent controllers. We think flexibility is key and for us this means the ability to connect multiple temperature sensors along with other auxiliary signals and to be able to control a variety of outputs from heating elements to pumps and fans. As important as the hardware is the software and a deep knowledge of PID control along with features such as condition monitoring can all be configured and monitored with our extensive suite of software.

Heavy Industrial Immersion Heater with IOT
Heatrod manufacture a wide range of heavy industrial immersion heaters for commercial and industrial applications. With our customers facing increasing energy costs we have introduced the option to include our digital temperature controller into many of our heavy industrial immersion products. The image shown is used in de-ionised water for cleaning processes. Example of Applications: - Commercial cylinder heating (Tanks/Vessels) - Industrial Flow Heating (Pipes/Circuits) - Industrial Heating Applications (Extrusion, Tool Heating, etc) Benefits: - Improved Control/Improved Accuracy - Reduced Energy Costs - Increased Control Options (eg. Aux control for pump) At a basic level this gives the accuracy of PID temperature control so limiting overun on temperatures and energy usage. For more advanced users, our digital controllers can be connected to our secure cloud based management system allowing users the ability to carefully monitor and manage the energy usage of our heaters. Monitoring features allow full visibility of live temperatures and energy usage in your applications which, in turn, allows power optimising decisions to be made. Usage patterns and associated energy usage can then be managed by the use of simple daily/weekly load schedules. Heating schedules can also be linked to low cost tariffs based on scheduling and to avoid high cost times such as Triad periods which are introduced for commercial users between the months of November and February. In advanced cases, users will be able to link their Backer IoT controllers to variable tariff information provided by energy generation companies. The controller will then optimise it's heating patterns in order to reach required temperatures whilst using the lowest cost half hourly periods. The Backer IoT controller can be applied to all of our products either by being built into the unit, where space allows, or by incorporating into a linked control/switch panel.

Self-regulating Trace Heating Cables
Since their introduction in 1971, self-regulating heating cables (also referred to as self-limiting heating cables) have become the most common form of electric heat tracing cable used in the world today. Heat Trace are the only heat tracing manufacturer in the U.K producing self-regulating heating cables and one of only a number worldwide. Heat Trace is now considered to be the leader in heating cable polymer technology, with a range of self-regulating heaters that are technically superior to other products currently available. Example of Applications: These cables can be used for a wide variety of applications, including: - Freeze protection of pipework & vessels - Process temperature maintenance - Heating of roads, ramps, walkways etc. - Roof & gutter heating - Under floor heating Benefits: - Automatically adjusts heat output in response to increasing or decreasing pipe temperature - Inherently temperature safe - Suitable for use in safe, hazardous and corrosive areas - Available up to 1000 volts We can produce self-regulating heating cables within the following ranges: - 12-1000 Volts - Up to 250°C (482°F) withstand temperature - Up to 130 W/m of output We normally supply heating cables with a braid and outer jacket. Please see data sheets or contact us for more information.

Constant Wattage Trace Heating Cables
We have been producing constant power heating cables for over 40 years. We produced the world's first parallel resistance cut-to-length heating cable in 1978. Constant Wattage heating cables, as their name suggests, are designed to deliver the same power output irrespective of pipe temperature. Our PowerHeat (AHT) is a unique patented, high power, high temperature constant wattage cable. It has an aluminium outer jacket giving it a very high mechanical strength. It has a maximum temperature of 500°C (932°F) makes it the highest temperature rated cut-to-length heating cable in the world! Example of Applications: - Freeze protection of pipework & vessels - Process temperature maintenance - Heating of small bore instrument lines - Refrigeration applications Benefits: - MicroTracer range of cables offer very flexible cables for certain applications where this is beneficial - Suitable for use in safe, hazardous and corrosive areas - Available up to 1000 volts These cables can be used for a wide variety of applications including freeze protection of pipework and vessels and process temperature maintenance. We can produce constant power heating cables within the following ranges: - 12 - 1000 Volts - Up to 425°C (797°F) withstand temperature - Up to 200 W/m of output

Longline Heating Cables
For very long pipelines, the use of parallel heating technology becomes very costly due to the very large electrical distribution system that would be required. However, an advantage is that long circuit lengths are possible using our Longline range of heating cables. Typically 3-phase Longline heating cables require electric supply points only at multi-kilometre intervals. Due to this, the number of power points required is dramatically reduced and can offer significant CAPEX savings. We can produce series resistance heating cables within the following ranges: - Up to 6600 Volts 3 phase - Up to 230°C (446°F) withstand temperature - Up to 50 W/m of output Example of Applications: - Freeze protection of long pipelines - 3 Phase heating systems - Above ground or underground pipelines Benefits: - Circuit lengths up to 50 kilometres - Constant power along unit length - Easy installation in convenient lengths
