    3. Product of the year the Ds4F is a finalist!

Product of the year the Ds4F is a finalist!

The Ds4F is a next-generation pump and a groundbreaking expansion of the Verderflex cased drive range. This pump not only incorporates the advanced features and software of the Ds500 but also offers unparalleled versatility with various tube element options. Primarily applied in dosing chemicals for water treatment, wastewater management, and industrial processing, unlike conventional diaphragm dosing pumps, the Ds4F minimises pulsation and can maintain precision at very low dosing rates. It is also capable of handling difficult fluids, including viscous, shear-sensitive, or abrasive chemicals, which some competing technologies struggle with. The pump’s robust construction and chemical resistance make it ideal for harsh industrial environments, and its maintenance requirements are reduced due to the simple peristaltic design, which uses minimal moving parts and no valves. The Verderflex Ds4F functions as a peristaltic dosing pump, accurately delivering chemicals or additives into process streams. Installation is straightforward due to its compact footprint and user-friendly interface, allowing for easy integration into both new and existing systems. The Ds4F can be wall or panel-mounted, offering flexibility in various environments. The success of the Verderflex Ds4F is demonstrated through its adoption in demanding water treatment and industrial chemical dosing applications. The product is chosen for its combination of dosing accuracy, reliability, and low maintenance requirements, which meet or exceed client expectations for operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Clients include water utilities, industrial manufacturers, and process engineers who require precise chemical dosing for regulatory compliance and process optimisation.

    4. PROFOX X: Compact Electric Actuation for Hazardous and Safety-Instrumented Applications

PROFOX X: Compact Electric Actuation for Hazardous and Safety-Instrumented Applications

PROFOX X is engineered around a robust metal enclosure, offering high mechanical strength and environmental protection in a compact form factor. This makes it particularly suitable for applications where installation space is limited, such as skid-mounted process units, modular plant designs and retrofit projects. Despite its reduced footprint, PROFOX X maintains the durability expected of industrial electric actuators, supporting long service intervals in demanding operating conditions. A key operational feature of PROFOX X is the integrated FOX-EYE status indicator. The centrally positioned, high-intensity LED provides clear visual feedback on actuator and valve status, enabling operators and maintenance personnel to determine operating conditions at a glance. In complex process environments where multiple actuators are installed within confined or hazardous zones, this immediate visibility reduces the need for manual verification via control systems and supports safer, more efficient plant walk-downs. PROFOX X is certified for use in ATEX and IECEx explosive atmospheres, covering gas group IIC T4, including hydrogen. This certification allows the actuator to be deployed in a wide range of chemical, petrochemical and energy applications where explosion protection is mandatory. In addition, the actuator supports integration into functional safety architectures, making it suitable for use in SIL-related valve automation schemes. Reliable position feedback, diagnostics and compatibility with modern control interfaces ensure predictable behaviour within safety-instrumented systems. PROFOX X addresses the practical challenges of valve automation in hazardous and safety- critical process plants by combining explosion-proof design, compact construction and clear local indication,, supporting consistent operation, maintainability and compliance across a broad range of industrial applications.

    6. Real confidence before you scale: Pilot Plant

Real confidence before you scale: Pilot Plant

In industrial processes where each product has unique characteristics, empirical validation can be essential. Agitation and mixing solutions present specific challenges depending on the application, and while in most cases process calculations and process simulations are sufficient to determine the result, on some occasions empirical testing is indispensable. An incorrect selection of the agitator or mixer forces production stoppages and costly redesigns. A 𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 fully equipped with various agitation and inline mixing configurations to cover a wide spectrum of industrial processes, as is our case, allows reproducing real process conditions to validate solutions before industrial implementation, minimizing uncertainties and guaranteeing the technical viability of proposals.

    7. Reducing Energy Costs

      Reducing Energy Costs

CDR Pumps helped a national corrugated packaging manufacturer cut pumping energy costs by nearly £1million in a single year by replacing compressed air-driven pumps with high-efficiency electric QUANTM pumps. Rising energy costs and sustainability targets are forcing manufacturers to rethink how critical systems are powered. One of the biggest hidden energy drains is compressed air. Air-operated diaphragm pumps (AODDs) are commonly used across UK manufacturing sites due to their versatility and durability. However, their reliance on compressed air makes them inherently inefficient – typically operating at just 10–15% efficiency. By contrast, QUANTM's electric diaphragm technology operates at up to 80% efficiency, providing immediate energy savings as well as improved operational efficiencies. The results were immediate and scalable for our customer – resulting in annual energy savings of close to £1million across 11 UK manufacturing sites. You can read more about this case study on our website. If you're evaluating pump efficiency on your site, we can help you quantify the opportunity.

Royce launches National Framework to Accelerate the Materials 4.0 Revolution

The Henry Royce Institute has today announced the publication of an Outline National Framework for Materials 4.0, setting out for the first time a shared definition, structure and language to guide the broad UK materials community through the transition to a fully digitally enabled materials ecosystem. Developed through in-depth interviews with strategic stakeholders, a nationwide review of Materials 4.0 activity and a comprehensive international benchmarking exercise, this framework provides a vital foundation for consultation – aligning research, industry and Government around the future of materials innovation linked to the digital transformation. Identified as a core cross-cutting theme in the Royce facilitated National Materials Innovation Strategy, Materials 4.0 describes the shift toward a digitally empowered materials sector. At its core is a materials informatics ecosystem that integrates: Advanced materials modelling, Large-scale and high-quality data, AI and machine learning, In-silico experimentation, Manufacturing informatics, Life-cycle and circular-economy simulation. By enabling seamless data flow from discovery to end-of-life, Materials 4.0 promises to compress development timelines, optimise the use of scarce resources, reduce waste and strengthen national resilience through smarter manufacturing. Safety at work: WIKA receives ISO 45001 certification

WIKA has received ISO 45001 certification for its Services division, an international standard for occupational health and safety management systems. Such a system ensures that all operational processes are harmonised with health and safety in the workplace. Processes are also continuously optimised to this end. It applies both to activities at its own facilities and the various service calls at the customer′s site. The occupational health and safety management system ensures that risks are systematically identified and minimised during these sometimes challenging assignments. WIKA’s services range from installation, maintenance and repair to calibration and consulting. The requirements of the ISO 45001 standard include regular audits, employee and management training and the evaluation of safety standards. These measures make it possible to recognise and eliminate potential hazards at an early stage and lead to a continuous improvement in processes with regard to occupational health and safety. “With the ISO 45001 certification of our Field Services, we are sending a clear signal at international level,” says Matthias Bundschuh, Vice President Services at WIKA. “Customers worldwide can rely on the highest safety standards being met during installation, commissioning and maintenance of the instrumentation - whether for new projects or maintenance and repair work as part of service calls.”
