    2. Contactless, real-time thermal profiling and control of exothermic and endothermic reactions

Contactless, real-time thermal profiling and control of exothermic and endothermic reactions

We're excited to announce the latest feature in the ReactALL system: Real-time, non-invasive, contactless Tr control. With it, scientists have rapid and accurate temperature measurement and control during experiments – which is essential for precise thermal profiling in dynamic processes. Powered by advanced thermopile technology, it offers: 🔁 Automated feedback control that combines real-time monitoring and reactor jacket regulation for responsive temperature control. ⚡ Fast temperature stabilization with demonstrated ability to restore internal reactor temperature within minutes, ensuring process stability. 🌡️ Precise thermal profiling for accurate characterization of exothermic and endothermic reactions, even during rapid thermal transitions. We carried a study where we monitored real-time temperature shifts during different exothermic and endothermic reactions, by using thermopile technology. These results were compared to the ones obtained using a conventional temperature probe. All the data is summarised in a scientific poster, which you can explore on the link below or download the PDF directly.

Dave Oakes Celebrates 25 Years At PowTechnology!

“Wow! Where to start? Some of the PowTechnology team have been alive less than 25 years!! Firstly, I’m so proud to have been around for the whole adventure that took us from sensor distributors to specialists in the Industrial Internet of Things. Standout moments include our very first Metron M2M device, sold in 2005 and our own MetronView platform, launched in 2011. We even developed the world’s first ATEX-approved GPRS-capable telemetry unit! That spirit of innovation has been a primary force within PowTechnology. It’s enabled our agility and evolution into an incredible range of sectors and applications. You need only look at our many case studies to see this … reams of off-the-shelf and bespoke monitoring solution. They encompass process improvement in factories to Adblue and cryogenic gas distribution, glue dispense to the reintroduction of beavers and protecting people on level crossings, MOD firing ranges and via flood monitoring! You could say that every day is a highlight, bringing previously unimagined ways to help people use their data effectively, achieving goals from safety to service, sustainability to sales. A particular highlight is the fact that our IIoT solutions have consistently been developed with a massive focus on the customer, making them easy to use in the application ... very important to a bloke who started his remote monitoring journey on freezing hilltops, programming radio telemetry for the water industry with a Psion! PowTechnology’s monitoring hardware and software is highly sophisticated, but our customers don’t need an engineering department or even programming skills. Kit is often dispatched preconfigured and literally ‘plug n play'. We also offer amazing support, with many solutions remotely configurable by our experienced tech team. We’ve been ISO9001 quality accredited for many years. An important highlight was gaining ISO27001 in 2022. Quality, security and sustainability are at the heart of everything we do. ...

    6. Digitalisation Drives New Era of Efficiency in Chemical Industry

Digitalisation Drives New Era of Efficiency in Chemical Industry

As climate change, globalisation, and rapid technological advances reshape global markets, the chemical industry is accelerating its shift toward smarter, more connected operations. Companies are increasingly looking to digital tools and data‑driven processes to improve efficiency, boost plant availability and enhance flexibility. Industry leaders say digitalisation is opening new opportunities to optimise chemical production. By integrating intelligent data systems, operators can streamline processes, cut downtime and improve safety. Partners across the sector are now working collaboratively to help plants run more efficiently, sustainably and reliably. Analysts point to the rise of Chemical Industry 4.0, where IIoT data enables proactive maintenance and more efficient resource use. Digital twins, automated workflows and 3D virtualisations are allowing engineers to pre‑test processes, fine‑tune operations in near real-time and enhance overall plant performance. Key areas of improvement include: Proactive maintenance: Continuous data analysis helps prevent failures, reduces downtime and extends equipment lifespan. Greater market responsiveness: Advanced data networking enables demand prediction and supports highly customised production, including smaller-batch manufacturing. Smarter process optimisation: Automation, modular production and virtual modelling streamline engineering and operational workflows across the entire plant lifecycle. Industry experts say these approaches will be essential as chemical producers seek to meet rising sustainability expectations and ensure long-term competitiveness in an increasingly digital future. 9. Dosing of liquid products: which methods? Focus on weight dosing

Dosing of liquid products: which methods? Focus on weight dosing

Because dosing is a key step in the filling of liquid products, the two are sometimes confused in the common language of professionals. In practice, weight dosing is also called “weight filling”. With an inaccurate dosing system, a filler-capper with an output of 120 packages/minute operating 24 hours a day, more than 8 liters of product will have been over or under dosed. When it comes to high value-added liquid products, the financial losses can be colossal
