New, Modular Safety Cartridge Reduces Emissions and Material Waste

OsecoElfab has launched the modular, two-piece LoKr DUO™ as a new addition to its successful Safety Cartridge™ line of innovative pressure relief solutions.

The LoKr DUO Safety Cartridge is available globally as a new pressure relief solution engineered to improve relief system efficiency while reducing fugitive emissions, maintenance downtime, and material waste.

The new cartridge builds on the proven performance of the LoKr Safety Cartridge™ with a unique, two-piece design. This consists of a permanent outlet body and an inlet body that is welded to the rupture disc, creating a replaceable module. After activation, operators need only replace the inlet module. The outlet body remains in service, which minimizes waste and shortens maintenance cycles compared with conventional welded cartridges or multi-component rupture disc assemblies.

The inlet rupture disc module is hermetically sealed and leak tested, reducing potential leak paths and supporting environmental and LDAR objectives. The sealed design also eliminates disc handling during installation and removes torque sensitivity. This makes installing the LoKr DUO quicker and easier compared to traditional disc-and-holder assemblies or pre-torqued holders. It also reduces the likelihood of leaks caused by improper assembly and avoids challenges caused by conflicting torque values.

The LoKr DUO is suitable for a wide range of applications and process conditions, particularly those with high-temperature or corrosive media. The cartridge offers the ultra-low flow resistance (KR: 0.22) that defines the LoKr product family.
