Innovation Centre in Digital Molecular Technologies (iDMT)

The Innovation Centre for Digital Molecular Technology (iDMT) provides a platform for rapid development and testing of new products and services for the evolving digital economy, specifically in the sectors of chemical synthesis of molecules and materials. We do this by combining the knowledge and leading-edge research of University of Cambridge academia with the experience of large pharmaceuticals, AstraZeneca and Shionogi, to support specific projects and provide training for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Established in October 2020 and part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), we promote the digitalisation of molecular manufacturing. Projects undertaken with the iDMT identify new products, facilitate development of prototypes, de-risk the adaptation of new working methods, develop demonstrations of technology, and enable knowledge transfer to and between SMEs.
