KEYNOTE – Change is the only constant, what next for the chemical supply chain?
Time & Location
Wednesday: 12.00 to 12.20, Stage 1
Tim DoggettCEO – Chemical Business Association (CBA)
About this presentation:
Since the turn of the century, globalisation has rapidly increased with a major migration of chemical manufacturing assets and investment from the UK, enabled by an integrated global supply chain which has grown and evolved to become highly optimised, transporting massive volumes of freight efficiently and cost-effectively.
However, over the last few years, several factors have wrought havoc on the chemical supply chain. In addition to battling Covid-related challenges, businesses have had to deal with regulatory changes and increased bureaucracy due to Brexit, while at the same time, the supply chain has encountered multiple disruptions.
More recently, we faced with another global crisis following the Russian invasion of Ukraine and where we have seen many horrific and incredibly distressing scenes. The consequences of this are far reaching and have wrought further havoc on the already disrupted global supply chain.
Tim Doggett, CEO of the Chemical Business Association will present on the current situation in the chemical supply chain and how these factors along with policy and regulations may shape its future.
Tim is the Chief Executive of the Chemical Business Association. He has worked primarily in global supply chain and logistics and has held senior positions in various countries. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and a qualified Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA)
