ATEX Risk Assessments
ATEX is the name given to the European directives to ensure that all EU member states create appropriate legislation so that there are appropriate conformity procedures for the health and safety of workers potentially at risk from an explosion in an explosive atmosphere that is caused by work activity. Compliance is implemented in the UK through the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2002 (DSEAR). Manufacturers of ATEX equipment intended to be used in potentially flammable atmospheres or hazardous areas must comply with the Equipment for Use in Potentially Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (EPS).

ATEX TOWELITE

Atmospheric Air Ejectors
Transvac manufactures a comprehensive range of Air Ejectors also known as Air Jet Ejectors, Athmospheric Air Ejectors and Air Eductors. Air Ejectors are used to extend the operating range of Liquid Ring Vacuum Pumps, boosting performance. The inlet pressure of a Liquid Ring Pump is limited to approximately 30 mbar abs because of the vapour pressure of its seal liquid (usually water). The addition of an Atmospheric Air Jet Ejector enables the Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump to operate outside its cavitation range allowing operation down to nearly 4 mbar abs.

Atomic Absorption Spectroscoy (AAS) - Analytik Jena
Analytik Jena have been designing and manufacturing AAS instruments for over fifty years, and their current range incorporates traditional hollow-cathode lamp AAS’s as well as the unique ContrAA. This AA uses a continuum source that allows analysis of F, Cl, Br and I, is far faster than an HCL AAS and has much lower detection limits. We offer flame, furnace and hydride techniques with a range of unique technologies including direct-solid analysis, an enhanced working dynamic range and 3D-spectral and background correction. Auto-Ignition Temperature (AIT) Testing
Our UK laboratory generates auto ignition temperature test data for your flammable & explosible liquids, gases, and vapours. The auto-ignition temperature (AIT) test is conducted to determine the lowest temperature at which a substance will produce hot-flame ignition in the air at a specific atmospheric pressure, without the aid of an external energy or ignition source such as a spark or flame. It is also called ‘spontaneous ignition temperature’.

Autoclave High Temperature Process System
Autoclave High Temperature Process System PTSC, alongside Thermal Fluid Systems, delivers advanced thermal process solutions designed to meet the demands of high-performance industrial manufacturing. This project highlights the successful design and implementation of a high-temperature thermal fluid heat-transfer system supporting a new high-volume process autoclave installation, completed in August 2025. Together, the companies provided full design, supply, and commissioning of a system capable of delivering 1.7 MW of thermal energy, enabling precise thermal control within one of the world’s largest high-pressure autoclave environments. Developed to support the production of engineered polymer foams, the solution demonstrates expertise in complex thermal modelling, system integration, and international engineering compliance. Delivered within an accelerated 18-month programme, the project required adaptation of European standards to meet US codes and legislation, including ASME and UL requirements, while maintaining high levels of performance and reliability. The final system operates up to 300 °C and 10 barg, showcasing PTSC and Thermal Fluid Systems’ capability to execute challenging global projects from concept through to commissioning.

Autoflex R817 Automated Sugar Density Meter and Refractometer
Sugar beet and cane mills often need to make multiple analyses from a single sample while reducing bench chemist involvement. Sugar testing lab automation allows chemists to reduce human error in the labs while increasing throughput and repeatability. Companies like Tate & Lyle and Minn-Dak Farmers use the Autoflex R817 to withstand their high sample throughput and multiple parameter testing. These robust systems make for excellent sugar lab automation systems due to their speed and low sample volume consumption. Autoflex R827
The AutoFlex R827 automation system is available in both drawer and carousel configurations, based on a laboratory’s needs. The carousel configuration is geared towards lab automation as it can produce automated RI measurements with ease. Labs benefit from automated sample loading and cleaning whilst still using only 2 ml of sample. The two-sample drawer automation system with a polarimeter is perfect for the pharmaceutical industry as it allows users to measure their blank and sample in one rotation. The instrument always ends with a cleaning cycle so it’s always left ready to use for the next person. This automation system is also beneficial to quality control in the food and beverage industry where there are stricter requirements for products destined for human consumption.

Autoflex R837 Automated Flavour and Fragrance Polarimeter, Density Meter and Refractometer
Many flavour and fragrance labs need to make multiple tests of their sample such as automated density, specific gravity, refractive index, optical rotation, specific rotation, brix, colour and pH measurements all with one sample loading. Automated testing can be challenging as samples are scarce or very valuable and using the minimum amount of samples is important. Samples may be very viscous and require several solvents to fully clean the instrument. The Autoflex R837 can handle all of these requirements, using both suction and pressure at the same time makes pumping high viscosity samples of up to 37,000 mPa is possible through instruments still using less than 12 ml of sample

Autoload - fully automatic loading arm.
Autoload is a registered trade mark to describe a true innovation in loading technology. Autoload will remove the need for an operator to touch or guide the loading arm. It will seek the manhole on the tanker, insert, carry out safety checks and load automatically. On completion the arm will automatically return to its parking position.
