Blending
The following processes are available in many of the 13 self-contained process units in our Crewe factory: 3 Low shear batch blending units. 4 High shear batch blending units. 3 Continuous blending systems. 1 Fluidised bed system. Low shear blending is offered using ribbon and U Trough blending equipment. These blenders achieve a gentle folding action with blend times typically 20 to 60 minutes. Feed to the blenders can be from big bags, sacks, drums or boxes. Feed material can be check screened prior to charging into the blender. Product is typically discharged to big bags but can also be packed to sacks or boxes incorporating check screens. With careful operation these blenders can disperse oils and waxes onto powder or granules in order to reduce the dustiness of the final product. High shear Ploughshare mixers are available with capacities ranging from 2000 to 4200 litres. They are capable of the accurate dispersion of low levels of chemicals in short blend times. Chopper units (running between the ploughs) permit dispersion of liquids into the blend and also serve to control oversize generation should this be an issue. Very high shear blending can uniformly disperse high viscosity liquids into powders with heating if required. Custom Powders in house designed loss in weight systems can continuously blend up to 4 powder streams and a liquid if required.

Bohlender (BOLA) fluoroplastic labware (eg PTFE, PFA etc.)
BOLA produces a range of sophisticated, professional laboratory products constructed from a variety of high performance materials, developed and manufactured by in-house specialists with precision and attention to detail. The use of specific materials, such as PTFE, enables innovative product design for stirring and mixing, temperature measurement, distillation and filtration, ensuring excellent chemical and thermal resistance. BOLA benefits from keeping both design and production of their products in-house, allowing them full control over every aspect of the manufacturing process. This means that all requirements, from safety to functionality to design, are realised with the efficiency and expertise expected of a competitive modern laboratory products manufacturer. Screw joints and ground joint components, tubing and connectors allow a large number of possible combinations when it comes to creating sophisticated systems for sampling and feed, using standard laboratory bottles and containers. For the distillation of strong acids or alkaline products, BOLA offers reaction vessels with up to 6 litre capacity in either PTFE or PFA. All parts exposed to mediums are either made completely of PTFE/PFA, or jacketed for effective protection. Stirring/Mixing BOLA magnetic stirring bars and stirrer shafts feature a range of different qualities, making them highly suitable for use with an array of other products and vessels. Bond-Rite REMOTE - Grounding Drums and Containers
The Bond-Rite REMOTE enhances safety and security of processes at risk of generating electrostatic charges by continuously monitoring the connection of the clamp to the container or other conductive items of plant. The Bond-Rite REMOTE indicator station houses both the earth loop monitoring circuit and a bright green LED indicator which pulses continuously when it detects that the resistance between the equipment and the site’s verified earth is 10 ohms or less. For processes where a wall mounted indicator is preferred, two enclosure options are available. The standard SDP (Static Dissipative Polyester) enclosure is suitable for general processing environments, whereas the stainless steel enclosure caters for corrosive or hygienic environments. The battery provides up to 6 months of power for equipment grounded for up to an average of 6 hours per day.

Bond-Rite REMOTE EP - Earthing Drums & Containers
in a complete loop made through the designated earthing point. For processing applications requiring earthing for more than 6 hours per day, the Bond-Rite REMOTE EP can simultaneously power up to ten indicator stations using 230V AC or 115 V AC mains power. This enables users to actively monitor up to 10 items of plant equipment at risk of electrostatic charging.
