    4. ATEX Mobile Operator Panel for Zone 1 / 21

ATEX Mobile Operator Panel for Zone 1 / 21

In hazardous areas, operators are often forced to choose between fixed HMIs and mobile devices. This creates inefficiencies, duplicated hardware, and limited flexibility on site. The Mobile Operator Panel (MOP) removes this compromise. Built around intrinsically safe IS940.1 and IS945.1 tablets, the system allows a single device to function as both a fixed operator interface and a fully mobile tablet. When docked, it provides a stable HMI for equipment control. When removed, it becomes a powerful mobile tool for inspections, diagnostics and field tasks. The result is a flexible, ATEX certified operator interface that improves visibility, reduces hardware requirements, and enables more efficient workflows across Zone 1/21 hazardous areas. What is the Mobile Operator Panel? The Mobile Operator Panel (MOP) is a complete ATEX certified operator interface system designed for use in hazardous areas. It combines an intrinsically safe tablet with a docking and connectivity platform that allows the device to operate as a fixed operator interface when required while retaining the flexibility of a mobile device for field work.

      ATEX Risk Assessments

ATEX is the name given to the European directives to ensure that all EU member states create appropriate legislation so that there are appropriate conformity procedures for the health and safety of workers potentially at risk from an explosion in an explosive atmosphere that is caused by work activity. Compliance is implemented in the UK through the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2002 (DSEAR). Manufacturers of ATEX equipment intended to be used in potentially flammable atmospheres or hazardous areas must comply with the Equipment for Use in Potentially Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (EPS).
