Perlast® FFKM O‑rings & seals Perfluoroelastomer (FFKM) is the most chemically resistant elastomer available and is effectively a rubber form of PTFE. FFKM O-rings and seals are used in critical sealing applications where purity, high temperatures, chemical resistance and retention of sealing force are paramount. Perlast® is the registered tradename of our FFKM elastomers, developed and exclusively molded by PPE, for the most challenging sealing environments.

Perlite
Perlite, Al2CaFe2K2MgNa2O12Si, is a natural volcanic mineral which, after thermal treatment, resembles polystyrene balls in appearance, pumice in structure, and is chemically similar to glass. Perlite ore is extracted from the deposit using the open pit method. After mining, the rock is crushed and ground into sand. The sand is then sorted into fractions, this is an important process because the size of a specific fraction determines what type of expanded perlite we will obtain in further processing. The perlite sand goes to expansion plants. There it is subjected to thermal treatment, which increases its volume. Perlite expands at temperatures over 900°C. Then, chemically bound water molecules are released, which are a characteristic feature of this mineral. The escaping water causes the material to expand. As a result of this process, perlite increases its volume by up to twenty times. As a result, its density and bulk weight also decrease by twenty times, thanks to which we obtain a light and porous aggregate. Through our partner Perlipol we can offer a range of expanded, filtration and treated Perlites. We also offer expanded vermiculite for agriculture and animal husbandry. PFAS Testing and Regulatory Support
Our scientists apply a range of PFAS analysis methods to identity and determine levels of PFAS in samples. Targeted PFAS analysis offers superior sensitivity and chemical specificity, enabling the precise quantification of the analytes at trace levels. However, this approach is inherently constrained by its scope, as it fails to account for unidentified and polymeric fluorinated compounds. To partially mitigate this limitation, the Total Oxidizable Precursor (TOP) assay is frequently integrated into analytical workflows. By utilizing an oxidation process, the TOP assay converts polyfluorinated precursors into measurable perfluorinated carboxylic acids (PFCAs), thereby providing a more representative estimate of the total PFAS environmental load in a sample. PG-50 is a microencapsulated red phosphorus flame retardant paste designed for use in coatings, epoxy systems, and polymer formulations that require high flame-retardant performance with safe handling and easy incorporation.
